After a good night of sleep, we started our way southwards. The way was uneventful, straight roads, sometimes single line sometimes double. Around lunchtime we arrived in Stockholm and parked near the Maritime association harbor. Thanks to the EasyPark app, we could take care for the payment of  our parking ticket and were also checked and approved by the parking authorities even before we could leave the camper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If our way to Stockholm was uneventful, the situation changed as soon as we passed the city boundaries. First it started to rain gently, but soon it was pouring heavily. Soon there were few cm of water staying on the streets, what made driving a bit more challenging. Since rain did not stop, we were soon faced with one underdrive where the water was staying knee deep. Luckily we are driving a heavy camper with a high clearance what helped us to drive through the \u201clake\u201d fast and without problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the beginning we hoped that the weather would allow us to have a nice walk through Stockholm\u2019s old town. We started with the city hall and proceeded to the castle. I was surprised to see, that even the old town is actually spreading over several islands. Unfortunately, most of the area is occupied by buildings, streets and walkways; there is hardly any trace of vegetation. Luckily this is not so with the rest of the city where you can find ample green spaces, parks and random vegetation. On our way we saw the parliament, the Opera and some other important buildings. Luckily for us, the halfway through our walk the sun decided to show up and we could dry our rain coats a bit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After 5 hours and about 12.000 steps, we had enough and returned to our camper. After only 45 minutes\u2019 drive from the city center we found a nice spot in one of many national parks, where we could spend the night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
