Sunrise: 5.27

It’s friday the 13th, I don’t believe in any kind of dark magic, that is connected to this day, but maybe it naturally attracts some bad things.

However, we woke up in the camp, where we arrived yesterday and got ready for this day, we ate breakfast, played some volleyball, while mum and dad washed the dishes and sweeped the floor. We have to do it every day, and no matter how often we do so, it always looks dirty, because we walk in and out all the time. As we were ready to go, we still filled up water and cleaned our toilet, then headed to Trellerborg. Our ferry was about to take of at 16:45 and were supposed to be there circa an hour before that. But since we already arrived much earlier, we decided to visit the open-air Viking Museum. There we met some people, dressed like Vikings, that presented how life looked like back then. In fact, we also talked to a guy, who showed us how they made jewelry and brunches out of amber and silver. It is very impressive, how they drilled a hole and filed the stone, we also had the chance to try it ourselves. I was amazed of their very arranged lifestyle even so many years ago. They seemed very civilized.

We made a side trip it to the town of Trellerborg, that in fact got this name, from the timber castle that was found under the earth and was also partially presented in the Viking Museum, and saw some attractions. It is a pretty small town, but very attractive.

Back at our camper, we drove to the haven, that seemed five times as big as the town. So, it was quite a challenge to find our place, but we eventually made it. Since we thought we had more than enough time, before boarding, we made something to eat, but were surprisingly disturbed, as the other vehicles started their engines and slowly moved on the deck. From there on everything happened a bit suddenly. We drove on board, found a nice place on the upper deck and waited for departure. Everyone spent the time differently. I read my book, as well as Klara did, Hanna listened to audible as well as Philip did and mum and dad discovered the ferry.

Soon it got cold outside, so we decided to go inside. We prematurely booked dinner, so at 19.00 we figured, we want something to eat, but when we arrived at the buffet, everything was empty…no dinner for us. We asked why there is no food anymore and they told us that dinner was at 16.45, diner!!!! They also claimed that everything was clearly told on the speaker. I don’t know if it was clear enough, if 5 people that understand English, I at least think I do, understood it differently. I also don’t know about you, but I generally don’t eat dinner at 16.45. However, we were able to persuade them, that we could use our dinner ticket for the snack at 22.15. Till then we continued our behavior before and since the ferry took 6 hours, we had more that enough time to do so. The sea was very calm, even though a storm, with lightning and thunder and strong wind approached. At 22.15 we went to eat our “dinner”. Now the place was completely full, and even though the food was more canteen like, we were happy to get something. The arrival was predicted at 23:15, but we arrived a little sooner. Since the day was already long enough, our only aim was to cross the polnish boarder. What was not possible for this day…. anymore.

Sunset: 20:40 (Kilometer 8.659)
