Road trip day no.3

Niegow (km 1.107)

If there is no thunderstorm to wake us up, there are people that want to know how many times they can wake people up by driving as fast as they can with cars or motorcycles. So, at 7.30 we decided to officially get up. We are slowly getting used to living so close together and our camper is starting to feel like our new house for this month.

After we had breakfast and prepared everything necessary for our way, we hit the road once again. We stopped at the local Lidl and bought a couple of things that we figured out we needed.

Lidl here is very crowded and you wait for ages on the cashier.

We were able to take a nap (kids, not the driver) and the road was peaceful…until it wasn’t. In search of the national park, we got stuck on the cobbled road in the middle of nowhere with no internet, but plenty of mosquitoes to keep us company. And we thought that that was bad enough, until we figured out that in order to go back, we would have to drive backwards all the way.

We eventually found the way to turn the car, but we also gave up trying to get to now forgotten national park. Luckily there are enough storks around us.

We found a nice place to eat and then we hit the road once again. We came to Lithuania and the norther we go, less hills we find. But the good thing about it is, that if you’re near the city you can see most of it from that one place. We eventually came to Latvia. After the search of a place to sleep we discovered that no matter how much spray against mosquitoes you use, they are never going to be afraid of you!

Rundale (km 1.705)

We are parked near one of the most known attractions of Latvia. A beautiful mansion that we want to visit tomorrow. We used a walk as main source for our sunset photography.
