Mostly driving day…

Sunrise 2:46

We started the day with a longer sleep in, even though this does not mean that we had a long night. Night was actually shortened by the local group of fisherman and their spouses who decided to move a heavy wooden table and benches in the middle of the night from our parking place to a lower laying fisherman’s hut. They were having a gathering by the fire there and continued into the morning. I cannot say into the night, since here there is currently no night at all. There is no darkness.

After breakfast we started into direction of Stø. This is a small town at the outer ridge of Norway’s coast, what also means that we are facing directly the ocean. The way itself was wet today. It was some mixture of April and September weather we know in our home land. So we did not stop for longer time beside for some nice photos, which you can see bellow.

we saw an interesting picturesque landscape. We saw many fjords pulling them self deep inland; high mountains peaking directly out of fjords and skyrocketing even over 1.000m above the sea. Also the road had many ups and downs. One minute we were at the sea level, some km later at 500m above and little time later again at the sea.

Already in the early afternoon we came to our daily final destination and decided to stay at a camping place for the night. We needed to replenish our water supplies, take a hot shower and hide a bit from the drizzly weather. In the time between 2 raining periods we had just enough time to go for a very short walk around the place we were staying. This just convinced us once more, that today would be actually the best to stay inside, maybe play some table games and do nothing.

This time the wind took the task from Philip and was relentlessly shaking the camper still long into the night.
